Steam Trap
The steam trap (condensate drain valve) is an automatic valve in the steam pipeline system that automatically removes condensate, air, and other non-condensable gases from equipment or pipelines while preventing steam leakage, thereby achieving energy conservation and equipment protection.Extensively used in industries such as petrochemicals, power, textiles, papermaking, and HVAC, it is installed at the drainage outlets of steam heating equipment, steam pipelines, heat exchangers, and other devices to ensure efficient operation of the steam system while preventing water hammer impact and equipment corrosion.
Common Types
- Mechanical type steam trap: Operates by buoyancy, such as float-type and inverted bucket-type, with strong drainage capacity
Thermostatic trap: Operates by controlling the opening and closing through temperature changes, such as bellows-type and bimetallic-type, suitable for low-pressure applications
Thermodynamic steam trap: Operates by utilizing the flow characteristics of steam and condensate, such as the disc type, featuring simple structure and compact size
