Based on the screw configuration and pump chamber design, two main types are available:

Both types can be configured with different flow/pressure ratings, stator/chamber materials, sealtypes, and motor options (variable frequency / explosion-proof). Comparison with ordinary screw pumps:

Progressive cavity pump (single screw) vs. twin‑screw pump:
The single‑screw pump is simpler, lower cost, has good self‑priming, and suits soft particles, high viscosity, and medium‑low pressure. It has slightly more pulsation than the twin‑screw.
The twin‑screw pump delivers even smoother, nearly pulsation‑free flow with even lower shear. The transparent window allows real‑time monitoring. It is ideal for applications demanding extremely smooth conveying and process visibility, though at a higher cost.
G‑type progressive cavity pump (single screw): Composed of a stainless steel pump body, eccentric rotor, rubber stator, hygienic quick‑clamp connections, mechanical seal, motor, and stainless steel base. It connects quickly and dead‑leg‑free to hygienic pipelines, tanks, and equipment via clamp fittings and food‑grade seals. During operation, the motor drives the rotor to rotate eccentrically inside the stator, forming continuous sealed cavities that move media from inlet to outlet, achieving smooth, pulsation‑free conveying.
Transparent‑window twin‑screw pump: Composed of a stainless steel pump body, transparent pump chamber, twin screw rotors, hygienic quick‑clamp connections, mechanical seal, motor, and frame. The motor drives the twin screws to rotate in mesh, creating continuous volumetric chambers that draw in and push out media. The conveying is pulsation‑free with extremely low shear.
